T-Bone is tinkering with a "Code" format for reocording:

"But with the impending collapse of the biz-as-usual music industry, he is hard at work planning its digital future in the form of Code, a high-fidelity audio technology that's as pristine as the sound of studio masters."

It's the first I've heard of it, but it sounds interesting.

Apparently it is more marketing than anythingelse. He is just using a standard codec.

Thanks Curtis. I am disappointed - I thought Burnett had more integrety than that, though it is good to see recording artists trying to gain better control of the business.

The problem is more the dynamic range compression. The codec itself makes little difference. 320kbs mp3 would be a lot better than DVD-A with too much compression. Worrying about the codec when records have no dynamic range is like worrying about the cd player when you have the cheapest **** speakers ever made.
