View Full Version : Mount HTM-200 Upside Down

I saw something related to this for the 170, but I just want to be sure.

The mounting threads on the HTM-200 are on the bottom of the speaker. I want to mount them via a ceiling mount. If I attempt to mount the speaker rightside-up, the top of the speaker hits the ceiling and I can't screw the mount into the ceiling.

Is it OK to flip the speaker upside down, so that the threads are on the "top" and the speaker hangs down from the mount? I'm not sure if the exact same signal goes to both of the woofers. If it's the same signal, I imagine it doesn't make any difference.

Thanks in advance.

Should be just fine.

i've got my 200s sideways on stands for the surrounds right now b/c it seems a bit more stable--i'm not sure it makes that much difference.

is there even a right way up for the 200s? they seem completely reversable.

I have my brand spanking new CBM-170 SE's mounted a bit too high. Actually, they are probably a full two feet two high. And they are going to be stuck up there for a while too. Proper height stands are a ways off, as I have kids to think about, and furniture placement issues.

In the meantime, would it be a bad idea to flip the 170's upside down?

It is definitely something that is easy to try and won't hurt anything.
