right now my stands are quite wobbly. are there any stands similar to ones for the 340s. something fillable would be nice. anyone know if there are solid stands or fillable stands that would work for the 170s?

accessories4less.com and partsexpress.com would be the first 2 places I'd look at.

I'm using a pair of 30" Sanus Steel Foundations stands with the silver finish for my 170s and they are quite stable filled with sand.

i like those cliff. im curious to how the 170 stay ontop of that small top plate though? Is there a way to anchor the 170s on the top somehow?

I use some blu-tak (plasti-tak) that can be found at any office supply store and it seems to hold it pretty well to the stand. My speakers survive in a household w/2 cats, a 2 yr old, a 7-yr old, and a 13-yr old so I'd say it's pretty secure. One of the cats uses the speaker as a step to my entertainment center, and my baby has banged on the grille from time to time and it's still as secure as ever (knock on wood).

If you like those stands, I'd look around & see if you can find them cheaper elsewhere. I just posted the first link I found for them. I think I got them for around $110 shipped when I bought them.
