I just recieved my order of 340SE mains, 340 SE center, and HTM-200's surrounds and surround backs. I'm setting up a home theater in my basement which has slightly lower panled ceilings. I was wondering if there is any difference mounting the HTM-200 surrounds sideways as opposed to mounting normally? Because of the low ceiling and 11" height of the speakers it does seem to hang a bit too low especially for us 6 foot tall people.

I'm sure there is some difference, but probably not too detrimental. If you mount them on their sides close to the ceiling, try with the tweeter on the bottom.

thanks curtis, i'll give it a try. any reason for having the tweeter on the bottom instead of on top?

yeah...closer to ear level and less reflection of treble from ceiling.

Don't forget that the HTM-200 serves as a center for some customers, usually horizontal. I haven't tried it myself, but I expect it to work fine.

Is there any problem mounting them upside down.
With the mounting holes on the rear toward the top. Thanks.
