I have read a lot of good things about the S38's. The best thing, which everyone preaches, is to get a pair of both and try them with your own room and equipment.
I read one review of the S38's here:
http://www.stereophile.com//loudspeakerreviews/365/index2.html
The reviewer compared the S38 to the Paradigm Studio 20v2. I liked the CBM-170 over the Studio 20....to me it was more balanced/refined.
If you get a pair of each...please let us know what you think.
Another thing....how big is your room? I would think about spending less on a quality subwoofer, and spend more on my mains, unless you already have the sub.
