Gents:

Want your opinion, if you have one, or more than one. I have the opportunity to buy these 3 recievers, slightly used, for a good price.

Panny xr55, Pioneer 1015, or Outlaw 1050.

Which would you go with without any pre-quals from me.

thanks.

Which one has the features that are most important to you?

damn bikeman, you always come back with such logical answers.

for the next few months my biggest concern will be music. i will only have a 2.1 system. i'll be upgrading as cash comes along. i hope to get the most of the current surround features that are out.

looks wise, the dual dials on the pio are sweet. but size wise, the panny works best.

Based on this, I'd recommend the Panny. You can't go wrong with any of these if they're in excellent condition.

Thanks. I'm bidding on the panny on ebay now. i probably shouldn't let everyone know this. if i dont win either, then it'll be the 1015.

I have another Q for you and you appear to know enough to know the answer. If i go with a 7.1 system, but only have a 5.1 setup, which surrround modes will not be compatible with that? Just wondering if certain modes must have 5.1, 6.1, or 7.1 to operate.

and what you recc for a cd,sacd, dvd all in one player. heard anything good for any product?

With a 5.1 setup using a 7.1 receiver, you will get PL II, but not IIx(this is the 6/7.1 version), DTS but not ES, DD but not DD-EX, and I'm not sure if DTS NEO:6 has a 7.1 version, but you would not have that either.

I'm running a 7.1 Denon with only 5.1 and the receiver simply omits the modes it cannot produce based on speaker configuration.
