Hi everyone,

Been doing some research and finally narrowed down my 5.1 system.

340 across the front
HTM-200 in the rear (have a space issue  )
Panny XR55 or HK 435 (still debating)
SVS PB10

The room is about 2500 cu ft and I mostly plan to use the system for movies but like the occasional music. Is it an overkill to do 340's in the front?

Would love to have your suggestions/comments
Thanks

Overkill? Nope. Can't imagine the 170SEs being too shabby though.

Good choice in receivers BTW.

Haven't heard the Panny, but here's one strong vote in favor of the HK 435.

I would email SVS about your room size and if there's any openings to the room. They will not try to sell you more than you need. IMO the PB10 will be straining to deliver in a room that size especially since you watch more movies than music. The AVR is less a concern than speaker choice.

Nice, that's EXACTLY what I'm going for (w/ the Panny XR55.) Starting off w/ the 340SE's L/R first, then the PB10, the 340C, then surrounds last. I'm trying to pace my wallet, but I have a feeling I'm gonna buy it all quicker than my budget will allow!

JeffD2,

thanks for the advice, I thought the PB10 was enough, but I'll be sure to give SVS a call before I order.
