    Default Adding Additional Speakers

I currently have 3.1 setup with original Sierra-1's and a PSA S2112 subwoofer.
I want to upgrade to 5.1.

Room is about 16 x 21ft, home theater is going to use about 16 x 15 of that space.

I have been eyeballing the CBM-170SE B-stock at $312.80 for a while now. They will be on speaker stands (yellow boxes in the picture, brown are couches, not to scale ). Should I go 4.0 CMB-170's, keeping the Sierra-1 center. And use those two Sierra-1's for a dedicated stereo setup in another room? Or just add two CMB-170's for the surround speakers?

Alternatively I could just buy two HTM-200SE.

    I get that $40 discount if I order 4 CMB-170s

I noticed the CBM-170 have 6db higher sensitivity that this large space might benefit from in movies. But I'm currently in a 19x19 room and I've never even gone above -20db on my system's receiver.

Personally, I'd keep the S1's as the fronts and add two HTM200's or the 170's your looking at.

Not sure how well your placement will work as surrounds as where shown is more like rears. If you definitely want to use stands, maybe space them further out (like at the rear corner of each sofa). Alternately, get the HTM200's and hang them on the wall (if possible) on either side of the sofas.

The higher sensitivity of the CBM-170SE is a moot point because the speakers will be placed much closer to you (the listener) That stated, since the surrounds will be going on stands, as opposed to wall mounted, CBM-170SE are a terrific choice for the surrounds.
