Isolating center from shelf it sits on?

Is there a cheap and dirty, but effective, way to isolate my Sierra-1 center from the low profile MDF shelf unit it will be placed on under the TV's bottom edge? The subwoofer will be sitting on the floor immediately to the left of the shelf unit. I don't have much clearance to work with (I calculate 0.75inch) so I can't elevate the Sierra center much. I was thinking of using a sheet of mass loaded vinyl between the shelf unit and bottom of Sierra center. Appreciate any input. Be careful of some of the rubbers. They'll discolor a surface in short order.
