There is a company called Analogue that is doing amazing things with "Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs)" to create systems that can play old video games to a very high degree of accuracy. Now, I'm not suggesting piracy. These systems can play cartridges, and they don't use software-based emulation.
