Howdy Curtis. What is the speaker to sub crossover section?
There is a quote I like:
"You can explain it to me, but you can't understand it for me"
Chris
I am experimenting between 40 HZ, and 60 Hz.
Bass sounds pretty good now.
Thanks
Good question. Depends on what the source material is.
I will probably leave the crossover at 60 Hz, with B Plug, for most listening, When I sit down for Music, I use pure direct on my OPPO, and Yamaha receiver. If The source needs the low end, I change to 2 Channel with Sub.
When I get the Compact Horizon, I want to include it in my CD listening occasionally. I know I can use the Party mode. I am curious if there are other ways. What fun!

That was one of the things I liked about my Yamaha receiver was the 40hz crossover point. It does make a huge difference and ran my towers down to 40 then below to my subs. With capable towers it seemed to blend really well. With the 60hz it sounded more mid bass heavy but still good. My Elite has its lowest point at 50hz and I fully understand experimenting with that lower 40hz point choice.

I found between 40-60hz there was really no audible difference so I decided on 60hz because it gave me the best integration between sub and mains for my listening room. I found the higher I deviated from 60hz the bass appeared bloated or as others like to say "exaggerated"...my guess here is my room modes benefits in that region ~80hz or above....I prefer the bass not to draw attention to itself and until I'm able to run some sweeps and measure things properly ....I'll have to rely on YPAO and what I hear by ear....
