That sucks! While the panny players do have great video performance they are not the most solidly built units out there. I have had a scare or two with my CP-72 already and its easily less than a year old.

What is the warranty on these things?
I bought it off of eBay, but the guy gave me the receipt too. It was bought in February.

I believe its a year. I actually bought mine open box from Circuit City so I am not positive. I would put in an RMA request to Panasonic though and see what they say.
I talked to Panasonic...open on Sundays! Anyways...parts are covered for a year, labor 90 days. If I take it straight to Panasonic, it will be about $90. If I got to an authorized repair vendor, it is whatever they want to charge.
A new universal is looking better and better!

Yeah I would be going the same direction. Hell the Pioneer 563A is cheap enough if you want universal. However with the new Denon 2200 I would be tempted to pick that up soon.
