Cellsplicer,
Just curious, but you use your setup mostly for games or music (or both)?

Hi Curtis,
No I never tried that. But when watching a movie, I am never aware
of the speaker being so high over the TV. I have it on a slight ramp,
so it is angled down in line to my listening position.
I think I will have to demo the center speaker resting on the counter, just
to compare. But I really enjoy keeping the counter clear.

My L & R stands are Plateau RT-23. They're not the heaviest stands but I did fill the posts with sand which helped quite a bit. If it wasn't for the fact that I already had them on hand, I probably would have gone with the Ascend stands when I purchased the 340's. None the less, I am quite satisfied with the results I'm getting with the Plateau stands.
My center is sitting on a an old Paradigm speaker until I can find a suitable speaker stand and I'm using Samson MS-200's for my side surrounds. I have found that having the center out front of the TV worked out better than when it was in the TV stand.

Bump. I enjoy viewing the pics for tips on improving my own setup.
my revised HT.
Nice. How much impovement did you get with sound dampening?
Thanks
In all honesty, my greatest sonic improvement was installing the various traps. Before traps, my room sounded like a gymnasium. The thing I always have to pay attention too, is that now, I can push crazy dbl's without any distortion. This is not only because of the traps but some great amps and speakers as well.

as out of ordinary a that seems to look, I'm jealous! I have a bit of interference from a close wall; blending a bass trap into the room is almost impossible. I did see a guy that made japanese privacy shades (like for changing your clothing behind ) and redid the fabric into trap friendly.
