    SPL meter we use is a Protek SL-100, which is highly accurate with built-in calibration. It is a great SPL meter but I believe it has been discontinued. I recall it cost about $250. Probably some used ones out there somewhere at good prices. I have found that even the inexpensive ones on Amazon are far more accurate than using a phone.
