Default Removing the foam sticky feet from Ascend speakers

    Hi All,

I have an S2-EX that I use as a center speaker. I previously had it laying on its side horizontally, but found a stand the right height to place it vertical. When I got the S2-EX a couple of years ago, I stuck the foam feet on the left side of the speaker. Any ideas how to remove them without damaging the finish…they seem pretty well stuck on there? Was thinking maybe a hair dryer or a little soap and water? Thinking acetone or similar would be too harsh?

    Thanks,
    Ryan

I'd try the hair dryer and maybe a razor blade to help peel the sticky foot up, but you'll need to be careful with the blade, obviously. Then a little rubbing alcohol to remove any remaining glue.

    Hi Ryan,

Which cabinets are these? Standard or domestic?

Use WD-40 and a soft clean rag. Generously apply WD-40 to the pad, let it really soak in. Then peel everything off and use more WD-40 to remove the leftover adhesive.

WD-40 is fantastic at removing adhesive residue.

Domestic cabinets have a different finishing, WD-40 usually works - but it is much more difficult.

Not an issue for me but this is fantastic advice. I'd have never thought to use WD-40.
