So much depends on room acoustics and if there will be much off-axis listening. The Horizon has much wider horizontal dispersion compared to Duo center and Sierra-2 (used horizontally), so it will provide far superior dialogue clarity when sitting off-axis from the center, and also in smaller rooms where indirect sound (reflected sound) will dominate the direct sound.

So, the Horizon has a better tweeter. It has a better mid-range (it HAS a mid-range!). It is more efficient, It is larger. I suspect it has lower distortion at the same playback level.

It is the better speaker by a wide margin, but also at a much higher price and it is quite large.

Dave I'm glad you stated imo the obvious...there is only one upgrade path from the duo or S2 and that's the horizon. If you have the space to accommodate the horizon...don't question your decision...if constraints are involved the other two would be great options....I personally think the STC...is the best speaker in the entire lineup.

I installed Sierra2 EX and a Duo center.
Have to move the Duo closer so new shelf on order.
The Sierra2 EX sounds great musically!P_20210501_131839_compress75_resize_63.jpg
