what do you'll think? myself, I believe having the grill on takes away the capabilities of the speaker. my wife even commented on how voices and harmonizing were so much more real and natural sounding.

You can't cover up that sexy copper phase plug! Naked all the way!!
Sierra RAAL V2 Towers, Axiom EP 500 Sub, Morrow SP7 Grand Reference Speaker Cables, Phillips CD880 XLR Balanced Variable Line Output to Orchard Audio Strakrimson 375w/per ch Stereo Ultra GaNFET Amp..... (Dedicated 2.1 Acoustical Music Listening Room)!
I leave the grills on..
maybe the material was recorded better that we were listening too, but it was so good! I'm going to leave them off while listening and back on when not.
I leave my on. (I've got the Sierra-2)
Someone did a measurement a long while ago with an Ascend speaker with and without grilles. The difference was measurable, but not perceptible.
I also recall Dave mentioning how much time/care he puts into the grilles of the speakers for this very regard.

I prefer them off with the newer magnetic grills and on with the older design that utilized the slots. Which reminds me, does anyone know if the Sierra 1s are getting magnetic grills and domestic cabinets like the Sierra 2ex?
So, in reference to the actual title of this thread..... "grill or not to grill on the Sierra-2EX", I find that my Weber Genesis does a much better job at searing steaks.......
