I recently purchased the 340 mains and moved the 170's I had to the surrounds. We made our own stand out of plywood. Now I have a full 5.1 system. The 340's as mains has a fuller sound stage but they still need a sub. I have a JTR Captivator sub though. My listening position is about 10ft away from the surrounds and they sound great.

Nice - glad you are enjoying the 340's! Please post a pic of your DIY stands when you get a chance.

    Thanks!

There are several ways actually... Easiest method is when you hit the reply or new post button, on the top of the text box where you enter the text, from right to left, hit the 3rd icon which is "insert image". From there you can follow the prompts to either choose an image from your computer, or include an HTML link to an image. When choosing an image file from your computer, it gets stored on our server and needs to comply with image file size and dimensions.

I've had my image files rejected because they were too big. I've used windows paint to reduce the size of the photo
