    Default Difference between 2EX upgrade and straight up 2EX

    Hi,

    What's the difference between buying speakers that upgraded from Sierra-1 to Sierra 2EX compared to buying Sierra 2EX directly? I am looking at someone who bought it as 1 and then upgraded to 2EX and wants to sell it.

    There shouldn't be a difference

    About $500-$600, depending on how much the seller is asking!

    While the majority of our customers have been successful with the S2EX upgrade, we have come across a small percentage who have accidentally and unknowingly broken parts on the crossover. There is really no way to confirm if a customer who has done the upgrade themselves has completed it properly.

    Purchasing Sierra-2EX pair from us:

    * Factory tested Sierra-2EX pair
    * 7 year warranty
    * 30-day satisfaction guarantee

    Purchasing from a 2nd party:

    * Possibility of an expired warranty (especially Sierra-1 to Sierra-2EX upgrade)
    * No satisfaction guarantee
    * Small possibility that the upgrade was not completed properly
    * Likely a significant cost savings

    Hope this helps!

    Hi darwinn,

    We generally do not get involved in secondhand sales. That said, it is likely worth asking him if he did the upgrade himself or if we did the upgrade for him.

    He said that he called you guys and was told that its easy and can do it himself so he did it all by himself. I sent you a link to images for the speakers he is selling. If you can take a look just because I trust your professional opinion more than anything. It would be a huge favor if I can get your input

    thanks once again dave. btw you are the best

    I am sorry but I can't offer you an opinion on the speakers by simply looking at pictures of them.

    As with all 2nd hand sales.... caveat emptor.

    Expecting Dave to assess a speaker from photos is like asking him to describe what it's like to moon walk based on NASA videos.

    Or what it feels to be the great Michael Jackson doing his own moonwalk:

    About the 3:37 mark. Cats! What it must be like to be able dance like that!

    That was so spectacular back in the day that everyone wanted to learn how. I remember eating at a BBQ joint out in the middle of nowhere and a clogging group was working the crowd. All of a sudden the lead dancer dropped into a moonwalk, did it half way across the stage. I literally dropped my plate, but the dancer and I were the only ones laughing. No one else noticed. Really. Of course really good NC BBQ does have a way of taking your full attention.

    Anyway, whenever anyone says "moonwalk" that's what I always think about. Apologies to Neil Armstrong.
