Default Smaller 3-way Sierra Center Channel? (Good for Media Centers?)

    Hi David,

Have you ever looked into the possibility of a slimmer 3-way center channel than the Horizon? As I understand it most media centers can only accommodate something around 9" tall or so, and there's a lot of 3-way center channels that typically have a 2 or 3 inch midrange driver--i.e. something like the NHT Classic 3C or Emotiva Airmotiv C1. Also a slimmer center channel might be more popular for just decor reasons in general.

Wondering how much interest there would be in looking at something like that.

Thanks. But that's not a 3-way center channel?

I've got a version of this on order, hopefully shipping soon. This layout provides the low profile ( the version I ordered will be 8.5 x 26 x 14.5) but with a slight compromise in off axis symmetry.

This layout provides shallow depth but not a low profile.

That is correct .. the center in post 510 is 11" Tall x 40" Wide x 7.5" Deep.

Having the tweeter directly above the mid probably corrected the minimal off axis symmetry of design #1 but those woofers are out there.

Seems like finding room for Dave's original design cashes in on his engineering skill set but there's no doubt that both mods yielded a fantastic center speaker.

I have not at this point in time. Much depends on the Luna LCR performance. I have very high expectations for this speaker which is about as slim and low profile as a high quality center could possibly be...

I would also be interested in a center channel speaker that was not as tall as the Horizon. I have room for about 8 or 9 inches high as well. Not looking to do this anytime soon, but wanted to add another vote for "love the idea of the Horizon but it's too tall."
Luna Duo V2 LR, Titan Horizon V2, and Rythmik L22 & L12 in HT, Sierra-LXs in study, S-2EXs and Duo V2 C in bedroom, S-1 NrTs in dining room, S-1s at work, HTM-200s in kitchen. Brother owns CMT-340s and dad has a pair of CBM-170s.
