    Default Sierra owner in SEA

Hi everyone, just purchased a pair of Sierra Towers w/ RAAL that are supposed to arrive tomorrow! I'm so excited, let me know if you have any great music recommendations I should break them in with.

Edit: I will plan to update the thread with my impressions once I've broken them in.

    Hey ZaCDhybrid,

A little north of Seattle, in Lynnwood. Had mine for a few years now and love them as much (or more!) than the day I got them.

Just to give you an idea of what my first day/nite was like. First, I only got one speaker delivered the first day. Really hard to make a statement about speaker quality with only one. Got the second one the next day. Set them up, put on some music, and was disappointed. Fiddled with placement and song selection for a couple of hours, and it was like somebody turned on the lites. Suddenly they sounded like the best speakers I had ever heard. Not sure if it was break-in, distance from back wall (ended up ~18" away), or just my ears deciding what they were hearing was good.

So give yourself some time before you judge just how good your RAAL's are. You are gonna LOVE them and keep them forever.

Just play your favorite music. Nothing special needed to break them in.

If you need some new material, the Ascend Music Thread is a good source.

Thanks Curtis, I'll start digging through there.

If I only have one song to impress someone with my speakers, it is:

"Hotel California", Hell Freezes Over album, Eagles

After that I have several favorites, all killer on RAAL's:

"Hallelujah" and "Calling All Angels", K.D. Lang (Recollections album)
    "Care", Kid Rock
    "Sounds of Silence", Disturbed
"Truly Madly Deeply", Cascada or Savage Garden (or both)
"To Know Love", Little Big Town
"Chandelier" and "Dressed in Black", Sia

My tastes are actually much broader than these examples, but I think these show just how excellent your speakers are.

    Enjoy! randy
