Yes, absolutely - a new crossover would be required as well.

Guys - I know this is exciting but we are jumping the gun just a bit at this point. It is fun speculating but these woofers have never been mass produced before and SEAS has a few concerns about production quantities of this special Curv cone. Until SEAS is able to confirm that they can reliably mass produce these and at a price and quantity I am comfortable with, it really is all speculation. I truly hope we will be able to offer these in a standard product but for now they remain a very limited hand assembled prototype woofer that we are matching with the white diamond tweeter.
Dave, We (I) realize this is a bit of wishful thinking and may take a long time to materialize, IF it ever does. I have been working on a project for a new-to-market product that is now going on 2 years. We had a very positive field test and thought we had hit it out of the park, until we encountered a hiccup. Fortunately the customer is working with us to iron out the wrinkles, but it could take some time.

We know you will do your best to explore the best options in the end. If I have to "get by" with the standard woofer in my Sierra-2's then I will have to suck it up!

Thanks for bringing us back to earth, Dave. In the meantime, I'll keep my fingers crossed that SEAS comes back with some good news!

So, just to stir the pot, and because I'm just impatient sometimes............

Dave, do you have any updates regarding an upgrade for the standard Sierra-2 woofer to the new one used with the Diamond tweeter? Maybe wishful thinking, but if you don't ask.......!!

Seriously, Dave, if this is way too premature at this time I completely understand. You know me, I like to throw a question out there every once in a while. I just recall how much fun we all had in the Sierra-2 thread during its development!

    Please resume all nocturnal activites.........

As in, "spending this much on a woofer without clearing it with your spouse will make them your ex?"
Luna Duo V2 LR, Titan Horizon V2, and Rythmik L22 & L12 in HT, Sierra-LXs in study, S-2EXs and Duo V2 C in bedroom, S-1 NrTs in dining room, S-1s at work, HTM-200s in kitchen. Brother owns CMT-340s and dad has a pair of CBM-170s.

Ha! Hadn't thought of that but I like it, perhaps even more so than my actual reasoning.. EX, short for Excel, as this woofer is a highly customized version of the SEAS Excel W16NX.
