Default 340s an option to replace my AV123 Rocket based HT setup?

    Hello,
I have been considering selling my Rockets based HT system. Not that
there is anything wrong with them but as time passes I am sure a
driver will die here or there and well finding a replacement is going
to be a PAIN so I sometimes feel that selling now and getting a newer
system where finding new parts is not an issue could be a good idea.

Do you think the 340s could match the big sound of the Rocket 760s
fronts? My main concern to be honest is able to match the (what I
call) legendary RSC200 Bigfoot center speaker. As you all know, for
movies, this is key and is why I always look at the Center speaker
before jumping into a new system.

Anyways just trying to do this without breaking the bank and current
price on the 340s is great. I have been very impressed with the 170se
so I looked at these speakers as my first choice instead of an entry
level brand getting some momentum like Fluance.

    Regards!

I do not have or have I ever heard AV123 Rocket speakers. The 340 are what I call efficient speakers. In other words they don't take a lot of power to drive them. I also have read on other forms that they can play loud and fill a large room.
They are recommended a lot of time for speaker for under 2 k.
With out the size of your room it is hard to say. I have never owned then but seen a lot of great things said about them.
The new fluance speakers are suppose to be good but i think i would differently get the 340's over them. Most of the ones i see buying Fluance are just getting the towers and not the center.
With the 340's you get matched speakers for left front and center hard to go wrong there.
