    Default AVR configuration 5.1

My new home will, again, have a room that doesn't allow for surrounds to be placed on side walls. It also has a cathedral ceiling with the peak perpendicular to the main speakers. (We sure like great rooms)
I plan to do a 5.1 system with the surrounds on the rear wall.
The Question...How do I configure the AVR for the rear surround speakers.
    Thanks

Not sure I understand, but what else is new!

I assume the AVR has some sort of auto setup, such as Audyssey, MCCAC, etc.? Once you have the speakers set up in their locations the auto setup will do that for you.

Thanks Mag_Neato. We are changing from 7.1 to 5.1 due to new room/house with Dipole surrounds on rear wall. Crutchfield just told me to use the side surround setting instead of rear surround setting. I am happy to hear clear dialog with minimal surround effects watching movies. 5.1 Audio is most important to me.
I have YPAO. I didn't realize the auto set up would configure for me. I want to get a 4K processor with Audyssey next.
