CD Player with XLR Help

I am looking to add a CD player to my system and need XLR connections since my system is fully balanced. Under a grand...the Emotiva ERC-3 is an option. At 1100 I see the Oppo 105. Is there anything else out there in between that maybe I haven't caught?
I have asked at other forums and keep getting answers like don't buy a CD player and use your computer through a DAC... Not much of my taste yet...

Along the lines of separates (which is akin to what's suggested); using the BDP-Oppo as a multi-source component, is very similar to an HTPC. An external DAC could be the XDA-2 (which also offers balanced L&R). Essentially a more functional BDP overall..

Beyond that, your choices are pretty limited, as you can see
