If I were you I would report the shipping damage to UPS. I think that you should not be responsible for fixing what UPS did to your CMT-340 stands. (Incidentally, I have the same stands and love them). File a claim withg UPS and let them make things right for you.

I have actually had very good luck touching up my glossy black audio rack with permenant marker. It works very well!
However, I would file a claim with ups and replace the stand. There is no reason to have live with a stand they damaged.

Thanks for the feedback guys. The blemish really is very minor, and is situated right where the stand meets the base, so it's easily hidden even without a touch-up. Normally, I'd be all over UPS, demanding a replacement, etc., but with twin infants and a new house to work on, I just don't have the energy or the patience to deal with the red tape. Plus, I don't want to ever unhook my 340s again []
