Hi Ascend friends,
Will I damage the CBMs if I run them full range (or as Large)?

Probably not. You should be careful though running them full range with room correction software engaged. The software will try to over boost lower frequencies and that could damage your speakers at loud volumes.
Hi Daniel,
Good to hear from ya again. Hope you are doing well.
I have a pair of 170 SE in my bedroom that I run full-range for music and the occasional movie on the laptop. No problems whatsoever. My bedroom is just under 1,000 cubic feet and typical listening levels are between 40 dB and 80 dB 6-8 feet away.
The 170 SE woofers are quite robust and the speaker itself can handle a fair amount of power. I do agree with natetg57. Check that the RCS is not artificially boosting low-end response. Otherwise, you should be OK. Just turn it down if you start hearing any mechanical distress. That's the speaker telling you it's near the limit.

Thanks very much for the replies. I have Audyssey ON. Does it boost low end response?
Just one more question please. How about a crossover of 40Hz? Will the speakers be safe even with auto-EQ on? Thank you very much.
Thanks very much, David.
I do not listen really loud, and at my listening levels in my environment, the 170s are just awesome. I have 340s too. Great speakers.
