I will say this, all PO's are in and component manufacturing is in full swing. There is still one outstanding item that we are still waiting to confirm with regard to an ETA - the goal is late November, and they know this -- but at this point, all I can do is keep my fingers crossed.
Thanks for the info and good luck with that last item.

Have you nailed down a price yet?

We should be receiving a final tooling sample within a week. If this has my approval (it better!), I will be able to finalize pricing and thus release it publicly

Great news, Dave! I hope the new sample is up to snuff. I also hope the final pricing for the upgrade package is within my budget!

Dave, do you have any new teaser pics of the Sierra-2 to share at this time?

After going though 66 pages of comments, I am exited and confused. A few years back, I got rid of all my equipment and used Sonos Play 5s exclusively. Lately, I have come across some really great music that longs to be heard on an awesome system. So, I am buying myself a dedicated 2 channel system for Christmas. I have owned Sierra-1s in the past was about to buy hem again until I came across this post. My question is this?

Which speaker is better? The Sierra-1 Custom with the RAAL, or the yet to be released Sierra-2 with the more narrow ribbon?

I could have sworn I read somewhere that the Sierra-1 with the RAAL outperforms the Sierra-2, but I can't find where I read that and might be making that up entirely.

I will be using either a Peachtree Audio Decco65 or Nova125 with the Sierras.

    Thanks.

You've already answered your own question. Sierra-2 has yet to be released, any conjecture as to how it fares against anything else is simply a guess. It's a pretty safe bet that the Sierra-2 will perform at a higher level than the Sierra-1.

Your guess, my guess, it's all the same until Dave is able to spill the beans, despite anything you've read to the contrary.

The question was about Sierra-1 with RAAL, which indeed should outperform Sierra-2 at least in the highs and the mids.
