So I’m thinking I will need some sort of isolation/dampening foam for the speaker to sit on. Will need it to be 2-3” thick at most. There’s a product on amazon from Pyle that fits the dimensions quite well but before I spend any more money thought I’d reach out to all Horizon owners to see if anyone is using something they highly recommend.

    Any recommendations are appreciated!
I'm using something similar for my Sierra-2 center. I'm not sure if it helps the sound but I wanted my speaker to be a little higher and the foam adds an angle that I like.

I’m currently using Auralex Mopad XL’s under my Horizon. I use 2 of them and it tilts the speaker slightly up. Prior to this I had it on a Auralex Gamma. Both are on the more expensive side and I’m not sure if the extra money is worth it over the cheaper alternatives.

I'm using a Symposium Svelte Shelf under my Luna Duo (and a couple of door stoppers to angle it upwards). Pricier option than the others but they occasionally show up on usaudiomart or check with Peter at Symposium for B-stock.

Another option, albeit a bit more $ than others that have been suggested, are Isoacoustics - perhaps the pucks or Oreas. I use the GAIA III's under my Towers instead of the spikes.

Thanks for the suggestions, all. Went with the “sound addicted” iso pads off amazon. Certainly make a difference with the Elac center now that I’ve moved it on top of the stand (it was in a cabinet in the prior stand so assuming that’s part of what I’m hearing too. Can’t wait for my Ascend’s to arrive!

Speaking of AV/TV furniture, I really like some of the options from FURNITECH: https://www.furnitech.com/collection...herry-hardwood and https://www.furnitech.com/collection...-cherry-finish

But 9~10" usable height for the center channel in the cabinet is the most I've seen from most furniture manufacturers.

Since the Horizon is 11", anyone have any other great suggestions? Mounting TV to the wall and setting Horizon on top of cabinet isn't a bad idea...

Does Ascend still make a wider version of the Horizon with the bass ports off to the side to get the height <10"?

Yeah, mounting the TV and making room on top of the new cabinet was a great way to go, the room itself looks cleaner/tidier already and the stand I got was only $180 with 4 shelves big enough for an AV receiver.

Dave told me they CAN make a custom Horizon but it almost doubles the price. A custom built cabinet would have been my first choice but I already maxed my budget and then some!!

Can’t wait to get these speakers. I know the satin black cabinets aren’t supposed to be in until early December but I’ve been checking my email compulsively hoping they show up early Hahahaha. So excited.

after looking for at cabinets like bdi, salmander, furnitech, etc, i saw a cabinet on facebook marketplace made of solid mahogany for $150. The lady said she bought 20+ years ago when his husband was stationed overseas. The measurement was perfect at 71" x 24" x 18" (l x h x d).

the 2 glass doors in the center measured 20" and are solid wood.

i took out the cabinet doors. the middle glass cabinets i replaced with speaker grill cloth to enable what ever i put inside to breath, circulate air and to let IR pass thru.

dri-fit the doors on the sides to make sure the horizon center fits in the middle.

installed the shelf for the horizon to sit with a 10degree angle, this angle makes the raal twitter straight to the ears at 24" in height at 10ft away.

drilled holes using forstner bit for better air circulation and heat dissipation.
also put rack rails on the sides and rack sliding shelves for the components and surge protectors components and painted the inside black.

i was not willing to pay $2-3k for a cabinet.
    my expenses:
    $150 cabinet
    $15 speaker cloth
    $9 paint
    $5 stain
    $200 AV component rail racks/shelves
