    Default F15 or F12 (+ F12)

I've started setting up my sound system. I'm starting with a CBM170se pair and a Rythmik F12 powered by Yamaha RX-A3000.
My goal is to configure the system such that I'll enjoy it during the setting up period (over few years) while still have some degree of freedom on the final configuration.
I could justify 170 pair easily because it could serve my 2.1 initially and move to surround later or 2nd room.
However, I'm not so sure on F12.
    1. should I invest more and get F15 or
    2. should I stay with F12 and later add another one if needed?

My room is 400ft2 open to 300ft2 kitchen.
I'm buying a Rythmik because of it's clarity but my son will definitely try to rock the house whenever I'm not looking.

Two subs located in different areas of the room will help smooth out the room's bass response.

That is a pretty large area to fill. I would start with a F15 to see how it works out, with the thought of adding another F15 later.

Thank you for your response, Curtis.

Although we don't usually crank up the volume, maybe it's better I invest a little more now than wondering how a 3dB bump up would sound like every time I turn on the system.

The 3db bump will be noticeable when you turn the volume up.

I'm sure my son can test that part .
