    Are you familiar with www.fatwallet.com?

Check out this thread over there for all the current sale pricing on monitors. Then check the consumer reviews at www.cnet.com or www.eopinions.com to help narrow your selection.

My Dad recently purchased this Samsung monitor and it looks fantastic.

Thanks Brian. I have heard of the sites before, but was only using CNet for my research. I will use Fatwallet and Epinions as well now.

    Hey Curtis,

While browsing some webpages today I came across this deal.

It's a one-day sale from Newegg. I've never heard of the brand but the price is right and the initial reviews (on Newegg) are good. Maybe it's the CBM-170 of monitors.

    Good Luck in your search.

I made the mistake of thinking the 17" would be fine my CRT is 17". Oops my CRT was really deep. So, now I have a flat screen sitting 2/3 the way foward on the desk so I can see. []

    OK....so an update.

I got a 19" LCD. My local PC shop was having a deal on Realsync LCD's. It had nice specs and looked good in the store, so I decided to give it a try. After a few days, I am very happy with it, and I won't be returning it.

I also built a practically new PC. Asus P4P800-VM motherboard, P4 3.2ghz (1gig cache, 800mhzFSB), 1gb ram, 160gb SATA drive, and a CoolerMaster case. I recycled my DVD-Rom and DVD-burner from my old PC. I am very happy with it. I will last at least a couple of years if not longer.

I through in an old CD-burner into the old system, and turned it into a PC for the kids.

One thing for sure, with the LCD monitor, I have gotten a lot of space back on my desk.
