Default Happy new owner of Sierra-1s

    Dear Mr. Fabrikant,

I bought a set of Sierra-1 speakers just before Christmas and I want to say that they are outstanding in every way. Every positive review I read before the purchase is entirely correct, and the speakers' performance exceeds all my expectations. Thank you for this fantastic product.

My growing impression is that the output is extremely linear and non-fatiguing. Also, I'm experiencing something new and curious as far as their dynamic range. With other speakers, below a certain volume everything is lost, while above another threshold, everything is too loud. These two thresholds were rather tight. With the Sierras, I can comfortably listen to a wide range of volume settings and only the loudest passages vary significantly. This implies -- and I'm simply guessing -- that the psycho-acoustic response is valid for an unexpectedly broad range. This is a new and pleasant experience.

Now, I'm friends with an audiophile who immediately asked me if there is an upscale model available, as he would be interested in something better than a 2-way speaker. So here is anecdotal evidence that the market awaits a Sierra 3- or more way speaker that is one step higher than my own speaker system. Say, something for under $2,000 that beats certain well-publicized $20,000 speakers?

    With best wishes,
    Nikos

    Nikos,

Thanks for sharing and I am happy to hear that you are enjoying your Sierra-1.

Regarding the NrT questions raised by Azanon, it is inappropriate to raise those concerns in Nikos's review of the Sierra-1 (these were not Sierra-1 NrT) and the posts have been moved here: http://forum.ascendacoustics.com/showthread.php?t=4602
