The NrT upgrade is less than $190, I think, if done at the time you purchase the Sierra's.

Hey guys, new here. Just picked up some energy RC-50's for cheap but wanted these new Ascend towers just couldn't pass up the deal. Still want to get the new Ascend towers when they come out.

Has anyone heard both, or think it's worth the upgrade?

    Thanks!

How good of a deal did you get? You can get those from Amazon for $272.57.
It's kinda weird that they are discounted so deeply as they usually go for around $750 each I believe.

Hey if you got a really good deal you can get the Ascend towers and keep both pair

Got them for $250 each, but it's been around there for awhile now. Just couldn't pass them up. Originally wanted the RC-70's or the new Ascend Towers but I'm such an impulse buyer Also want a second Rythmik F15. Must resist spending money!

Don't fight the impulse, it can cause internal damage

    Hi Jim,

The Sierra-1 are -3dB at 44Hz anechoic. In-room response is typically in the high 30's. The new tower will come in at -3dB at 38 - 39 Hz anechoic with an in-room response in the low 30's.

If I decide to get the new towers, what should be used as a center channel for a 5.1 system? A Sierra 1?

The Sierra 1 nRT will be the best "match"

I agree. I upgraded my center to the nrt while I wait for my towers. Down the road I will probably look into the proposed new ascend center with the midrange driver found in the tower(Daves still is working on it). For the time being it should match very well.
