It wasn't styrofoam, but a soft, silky cloth. Plus there was a plastic bag overtop that, which you can see dangling over the top of the tower and down the side.

During setup I played some music through one Ascend Sierra Tower and one of my current Polk Rti8's at the same time. I was quite impressed with how crisp and clean the Ascend sounded compared to the Polk which just sounded muddled in comparison. I have been listening to Linda Ronstadt (with both Towers) this evening, the album she did with the Nelson Riddle orchestra and it is sounding fantastic....and I haven't recalibrated yet.....for one, the Onkyo Audyssey is no longer working, and two, I am expecting a new Denon 4520 with Audyssey XT-32 in a couple of weeks at which time I will calibrate with it. Psyched

When I had to go back to my other speakers(returning Sierra 1's for Towers) for a short time... I realized how good the Ascends really are? There was a huge void for me until the Towers arrived.....

Great looking pic's and great choice on receivers...the Denon 4520 is a very nice unit..
