Default 200 SE as LCR for ON-WALL use

I have a great room (part of the kitchen) with a plasma TV. I have been searching for on-wall speakers. Due to Spouse criteria they need to be on the wall and not obstruct the Plasma from oblique angles. This can be done if the 200 SE's can be mounted flush to the wall.

I believe they either sound inferior or cost too much. Then I was looking at the 200 SE's for the basement HT surrounds. Well today it dawned on me that the 200 SE's are pretty shallow and may work for an on-wall application. Has anyone tried this?

The speaker depth is not an issue. it seems to me the biggest problem will be getting them mounted in a flush to the wall ( securely and level) fashion.

Also, How far from the TV would you mount them?

    Ideas for mounts?

you can definitely mount the 200s flush on a wall. there have been numerous people come through these forums who did just that. there have even been a few who mounted them IN the wall, so the front of the speaker is flush with the wall, and davef says himself the results have been "quite good":

I would want the backs flush not the speakers recessed. Ideas?

Someone on this forum suggested this:

I got similar ones from HomeDepot for $4. I'm finished wall-mounting my LCD TV and 200SEs last week.

    ABHI,

what were those brackets considered at Home depot? I am interested in wall mounting my 200SE's and this seems great. I assume by looking at the link you posted, you mount one to the wall and other to the speaker and they then lock together?

    Thanks!

    merrymaid520,
I found these brackets in HomeDepot where the picture hanging kits were kept.
Here is a post which might be helpful:

It's Ook Security Hanger #50044. Picture attached. Use the provided screws (1/2") for the speakers. For the wall, I used 2" screws into studs.

I grabbed a LCR of HTM 200's ( and some Rockler hangers) used but looking at them I am not sure they will be/look right on the wall with the plasma TV. So I am on to another solution. The good news is that now I have 3 HTM-200's calling my name to be set up as surrounds in a 6.1 system in my rec room.
Can you use a HTM-200 Center as a surround center back ( the 6 part of 6.1 system)?
