    Default Hello from Little Rhodey

Been lurking a while but finally decided to put a HT in the basement and thought I would become a real member.
Still on the fence between Polk LSI, AV123, SVS, and Ascend systems. Figure I have a few months and with some help here will figure it out.
Now that fishing is winding down I can spend more free time on the endeavor.

Welcome! It's been a while since I've been up in your neck of the woods. I keep telling my wife how gorgeous it is, especially this time of year. I owe her a trip.

Almost all the speakers you mentioned were on my short list. I don't think you'll go wrong with any of them. I ended up with Ascends and I'm very happy. Please fee free to ask any questions and we'll do our best to answer.

I am trying to figure out what to do what equipment is needed for an odd shaped basement. I set will play 85% HT and 15 Music. I want to fill the room but not dont need to crack the foundation. Any help would be appreciated.

Tell us a little more. How big a space do you need to fill? Will it be open to other areas or enclosed? Unless it's cavernous, a system based on 170's, 340's or Sierras will more than meet your requirement.

It is a odd shaped room 800 sq feet with 7 foot ceiling. Sound does not need to fill the entire space but only the HT area. I will try to lay out a diagram and post it here when I get a sec.

Welcome, fellow rhode islander here (providence). What speakers did you end up going with?

Nothing yet still on the fence but leaning towards the Sierra. Do you have some Ascends I can audition?
