I have a 1014 as a pre amp and an LPA-1 as an amp. Did you use it in that configuration too? Are you upgrading?

I did use the 1014 as a pre, I purchased an Onkyo 805 and I went with the Audiosource 300 amps. I am bridging the 300's now, using them as mono's. It has opened up the 340's, especially in the drum area. Or that may be just my ears speaking. ha. I don't want to make any blanket statements. I went crazy today and purchased some Tyler Acoustic speakers the reference monitors. They have the seas and scan speak drivers. I may end up putting the Emotiva's back in or getting something bigger, hopefully not. I think we had pretty much the same setup.
Good luck!
