What 12awg for Sierra L/R/C...and what Sub cable??

I'm assuming by "closed" you mean the banana plugs where you stick the wire in the end of the plug, fold the wire back, then screw on the plug part. I also assume by "open" you mean the type where there's a hole in the side of the plug where you stick the wire, then screw the end down to secure the wire.

I have both. The posts on the back of my receiver are closely spaced, therefore I find the closed type easier. Also, I think there's a slightly smaller chance of having a stray wire strand loose that may touch another terminal.

If you prepare the wire properly, either should be fine.

agreed. i went with the open plugs, and have never had any problems with them. they both work the exact same way, the only difference is how they attach to the wire.
