In that application I think I would stick with the CBM-170's.
And yes...the 320 should do fine.

ok thx again as always guess ill try to talk her into 2 more 170's
With the left and right CBM-170's so close to the ceiling, you might want to try them upside down and see how that sounds to you.

from the top of the 170's to the ground is 6'.do you think they'll work ok there or should i turn them over.also the port on the 170's is about 2" from a peice of wood that hangs down in the shelf to hide the lights. Will this cause problems? am i suppose to use the felt feet on the 340 or does that matter?
I think that 2" space should be OK....it is not an actual wall, right? Does it cover the whole back of the 170?
Try the speaker upside down and see which sounds best to you...but it does not seem as close to the ceiling as I originally thought.
I use the felt feet just to get a bit more isolation from the TV surface, but I think I am going to try some of those pads that JohnnyCasaba mentioned in another thread.

There's also a felt divider option that goes on the CBM for applications where the speaker is going to be placed overhead.
Not sure how well it works, but you may ask Ascend about it.
