    Default OK to remove popcorn ceiling

    I plan on removing the popcorn ceiling in my home, for a more contemporary look. In addition, floors are porcelain tile. Will this significantly affect the sound of my HT? Planning on area rug.

    The popcorn ceiling stuff is great acoustic treatment. That said, I have never listened to audio in a room that had it, and after having it removed.
