    Default SACD recommendations??

    Hi:
I just ordered Oppo 981, I want to take advantage of it's ability to play SACDs. Can you recommend good SACDs you have listened to? Music preference is Jazz and Rock but I'm open to take a listen to any good music. WIll probably order Dark side of the moon from Amazon. Also, is there any good source to buy SACDs other than Amazon?
    Thanks..

    Thanks Curtis.

I'm going to connect Oppo to HK247 thru HDMI. I'm waiting for both Oppo and HK247. I'm going to get Oppo tomorrow. While I wait for HK, I'll test this with Panny as well. Since Panny can't do any Bass management, I'll have to set all speakers to large including my surrounds (HTM-200) while playing SACD.

HK does have an option of analog, but HDMI would be convenient. Do you think the sound quality would be better with analog??

I would imagine the HDMI connection being better....but I don't really know.

I highly recommend joining yourmusic.com. Do a search with "(sacd" as the album title (keep the parenthesis in there): Bingo! SACDs for $6.99 each. Their jazz selection seems to have dwindled, but I've been collecting all the RCA Living Stereo and Mercury Living Presence discs they have over the past year or so -- these are classic recordings that are great even if you don't know the music. Good way to start a classical collection.

Besides that, good call on DSOTM...that's one I highly recommend, also Paquito D'Rivera's Portraits of Cuba on Chesky is awesome.

    Thanks Clarke68..

Wow, that site is pretty cool and the price is awesome too. Will order some from there. I heard the Concord sampler and DSOTM in multichannel and was blown away. I'm just imagining how they would sound with new Sierra. I still will have 200s doing the surround duty.
Highly recommend the concord sampler too. 'Watermelon Man' would be my demo track for showing off the system from now on :-)
