170's + HK 3480? no crossover setting? Anyone tried this out?

My friend just picked up a pair of 170 se's, HSU STF-2, and a HK 3480. I am trying to help him get it setup over the phone, but without being there and being there it's kind of hard. From What I am looking at it seems that the 3480 doesn't have a setting for a crossover. How does the receiver work with the speakers and sub? Does it simply send a full range to both speakers and sub? Or does it have a built in crossover that isn't adjustable when setup for speaker+sub?

Anyone tried this sort of combo out?

Just wire it thru the STF-2 using the speaker inputs and use the STF-2's x-over.
