Default Short back wall, surround suggestions?

    Hi,
Well, after weeks of deliberation i bit the bullet on a set of 340's for my front 3 speakers. (Couldnt pass up b stock plus mil disc!!!).
My next step will be the surrounds, however the back wall is only 7' wide, with the couch right up against it. Would the 200's work for this situation?
I was thinking of going with the Axiom QS8's, since they are more forgiving in placement.
    Thanks for any assistance!

Cheat your couch out and put 200s on the floor facing up. I did that until the kids got big enough to climb behind the couch and stand on the speakers.

    Default try this

    watsonusn,

It may not be perfect for you, but I took the HTM200's and put them IN the wall. I cut a 8x11" hole and angled them down about 45deg to the LP. This way they are a little further back and still are above and behind me. They fire over the top of me to the floor in front but they image so well, the sound is really good! Here is a link to the finised product:

IF you are handy with a few tools (and measure for your set correctly) the look and finish and sound well be awesome! You could consider to the sides as well if possible. You are welcome to PM me your information and I will try to help you with the install via phone if that will help!

    Default not permanent

This is not a permanent thing so you can pull them back out and repatch if you wish. If you are going to live there a while, just a consideration. Good luck!

Here's a couple sites with recos for alternative mounting solutions:

    http://www.zinszer.com/ht-speakers002.htm

    http://www.nsmaudio.com/brochures/htsetup2.html

And, of course, call Ascend for ideas too. They were extremely helpful in arranging my setup.
