Default The new Norah Jones- not to late

I picked it up this morning. Not much jazz-pop piano on it, not much piano at all. More of her second album's country influences than the 1st ablum jazz influence. It is a warm recording. I'm guessing was not done it a professional studio. Some of the album is kind of edgy(litely) and a little dark and reflective that makes me think of early Tom Waits. It kind of seems like a I'm just going to do whatever I want album, as there are multiple styles that don't necessarily mix well.

It isn't a bad album by any means but, if you're looking for the jazz-pop piano of the 1st album it isn't there. My favorite song so far is her singing with just one guitar accompaning her.

Hey, what album is her first? I need more "nice sounding" stuff. Social Distortion doesn't really push the Ascend's fidelity much ;P

OK...disc arrived today, and I just listenned to all of it.....and I like it.

I like her first disc best though, "Come Away with Me", and her work with the Peter Malick Group.

I don't think it is as good as "Come Away with Me".

There is one song that actually sounds a bit distorted in the high notes. Not sure if it was intentional or not.

Thanks Curtis. I know her second album had some distortion on at least one song as well.

How is the quality on the Peter Malick recordings?

Still my favorite album that she appears on. I haven't listened to it in awhile but I don't recall any issues with the recording.

I really like the Peter Malick w/Norah Jones stuff and think it is recorded well. Whenever I use some of it for demos, people ask about it.
