Default A/V Receiver poll, please advise...

Please let me know which receiver you currently use or recommend to use with the 340SE's and HTM200's. I have my opinion and I know Dave's opinion, I am curious about yours!?

    I use a H/K AVR-635 with my 340 classics and 170 surrounds. I like it.

I'm currently using Outlaw separates, but was using an H/K AVR-520. I really like both of them. I've heard good things about the current crop of Pioneer Elite receivers too.

Denon. No complaints. Was using Outlaw 1050 receiver until it started having audio dropouts. The Outlaw had a beefier amp even though it was rated at a lower wattage than the Denon, but the Denon's sound quality is excellent.

Bikeman, you seem to have a lot of input at this site so I wonder why you chose the Panni over the others. Can you be specific if needed?

    1. PRICE

    2. Size

    3. I perfered (slightly) the sound over my other receivers (Kenwood, Onkyo, JVC).

After a few decades of chasing the elusive holy grail of sound, I settled in and now look for the best bang for the buck equipment. I know I can spend much more and get a bit more but I have way too many hobbies to go that direction. There's no end to how much money one can spend in any hobby trying to get a bit more of whatever. Been there, done that. I'm more satisfied today with my audio equipment than I've ever been. And I've spent considerably less this time around.

i've got a yamaha receiver. granted i haven't had the chance to compare receivers as this is my first one and none of my friends are into the whole home theatre/stereo stuff, but i have been more than happy with it, and the ascends sound great through it.

i chose it over a denon based on price and features at the time (i got a good deal on it).
