Thanks for the response to everyone, I think everyone here is the reason i will be keeping these speakers...
In response to Dave's questions:
I have gone through the speaker config. using the Avia disc and an SPL meter. However I was very confused when it came to calibrating the subwoofer with the speakers as far as setting the phase, level, croosover, etc.. I didnt really spend time much time with that portion of it because i was just passing it off as a bad subwoofer. I probably wont have the money to upgrade for a couple months though so i would like to calibrate it like it should be for now.. For right now I have the crossover set to 80 hz on my receiver and all the speakers set to small. My sub has an output adjust on the back of it which i have turned all the way up thinking i need as much bass out of it as possible. Im an audiophile in training so excuse me if this is way off.
I have attached a picture of my setup but is not very clear because i took it with my phone.. but the general idea should be there.
http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...20/mysetup.jpg I am waiting on an omnimount for the top of my TV for the center channel because right now it is almost facing upwards.. Also I just placed the order for the Ascend speakerstands a few moments ago because it appears that these speakerstands are a little too high... From what im being told the tweeter should be ear level and right now it is more like the bottom woofer is almost ear level. I am hoping that these changes will at least make the sweet spot sound better.however this is a somewhat large room with lots of seating and it would be nice if everyone could have some good sound as well instead of just me.. I know what Dave said as far as having the room filling sound with the polks which was nice.. Will a nice sub give that room filling sound in a way? I dont know how that would be.. Either way thanks again for everyones help..
