340se & stand height

I noticed that the base stand height for the 340se is 24 inches. But I constantly see owners use 30inch stands. I also see where the reccomended stand height for the 170se is about 31 inches which would put the tweeter about at the same height as the 340se on a 30 inch stand. Which is better for the 340se, 24in or 30in.? Is it OK to have the tweeter a few inches higher than ear level and what is to high?

I experimented with height when I got my 340's. It was awhile ago so I'm sure of the details but the 24" stands were just fine. The addition height was of no noticeable acoustic benefit.

I have the TP24 stands from Ascend and they're the perfect height to me. Sweet spot is on a couch on the floor (i.e. no riser) about 10' away.
