Perplexed by current ascend special

Why would Ascend run a special on a speaker (340 SE) that they're currently out of stock of? (they have a special running on 340SE's + stands).

I admit I've never run a business, but I would think intuitively that you'd run a special on the speakers you have surplus of (or in Ascend's case, surplus parts to make said speakers with).

It is more like the package price. As that's been the 340 and stands special for about 2 years.

I probably wouldn't call a package price running 2 years or more a "special".

I would have to agree, the special is confusing. If you do the math the question is where is the special?

If purchased seperate:

Speaker $568.00
Ship $ 26.00
Stand $100.00
Ship $ 26.00
Total $720.00

Heres the "Special" price:

Speaker w/Stand $668.00
Ship $ 52.00
Total $720.00

Am I missing something? Or is the "special" NOT so "special"? I have NO issues with the product just the special seems lame! No real savings.

I thought the stands were the special.....if purchased seperate, they are $140 I believe.

But I now see if you go the "store" they list for $100.

Looks like there is a mix-up in pricing somewhere:
"Order a pair of our incredible new CMT-340 mains and receive the matching stands for only $100, normall $140 per pair."

Sorry for any confusion...

The special is on the stands... The TP-24 stands normally sell for $140/pr + shipping. With the purchase of a pair of CMT-340 SE mains, the stands are $100 /pr.

We originally had the stands listed in the shopping cart for $140 and offered a special item (340pr + stands) for $668 -- but we found that this caused more confusion as it made purchasing a complete package from our system advisor difficult if someone wished to add the stands. The solution was simply to list the price of a pair within the shopping cart software as the special price so anyone purchasing a package system can add the stands and get the special pricing.

We don't honor the $100/pr price if someone hasn't already purchased 340s from us.

As listed on our website "* Special pricing on the stands is valid for 45-days from the date you purchased the 340 SE mains directly from us. Regular price is $140/pr." Although, I can see how the wording on the site is a bit confusing. I will put it on my to do list....

Shopping cart software is limited on what you can and can't do regarding pricing.
