    Default buzz in center speaker...

at certain dialogue scenes, theres a crackle buzz sound at high frequencies that lasts for a milisecond like the persons voice is too high to reproduce. this happens usually when someone yells or high pitch voice. Other than that, the speakers sound phenominal. Is something wrong with the speaker or its the source material? I have ascend 340s running on a yamaha rxv 2400. Its really something very minor but it still bothers me. any ideas?

Try switching out the center with one of the LR's and see if the problem still persists.

I was getting buzzing on my right speaker when watching the Sprout channel via Comcast Cable DVR tonight. I tried switching the L/R and had the same problem.

I'm hoping it's the source material?

I too have been getting some buzz from comcast. Watched Madagascar tonight on HBO family with my son and the dialogue sounded horribly compressed... Some channels use more compression than others -- and it is this compression that will typically cause distortion/buzzes on digital channels.

I also recently upgraded our cable boxes to the dual tuner model (Motorola DCT 6412 III) and instantly noticed decreased HD quality -and- sound quality. I called Comcast to complain and they did some magic on their end -- boosted the signal quality and reset the boxes - things improved but not to the level of the previous single tuner Motorola box.

All the more reason to stick with good quality DVD's
