    Default Look familiar?

Has anyone listened to these? Can't believe what they're asking for them. Tell you the truth, the 170SE's are about as good as they get. Thanks to all involved, Dave in particular. Great company, great people, great product!

$2k for a pair of MTMs is nothing, there are some SERIOUSLY expensive speakers out there.

    Heck, here's a $7k pair of MTM stand-mount speakers that I heard at the RMAF - http://www.eben.dk/eben/x-streme-ser...-x-centric.htm

Or this $10k pair of MTM stand-mount speakers that were also at the RMAF - http://www.theultimatemonitor.com/default2.htm

If you get into floorstanders, then all budget bets are off and you can go well north of $100k a pair.

Well, in fact, these are $6000 and I found them interesting because they use the SEAS drivers. Just wondering where all the extra money went.

Ooops, I was reading the price they mentioned for the non-XL version.

I think only the tweeters on the Ascends are SEAS right?

I'm not sure where the Aerogel woofers come from...anyone know?

Yes, only the tweeters are SEAS. The Aerogel was from Audax. I don't think the new polygel is though.

The Polygel woofer, as I understand it, is an Ascend exclusive.

That's good to know. But, I'd be interested to hear what company makes them for Ascend...
